We combine retailer stores, pricing, ingredients, and nutritional content in one convenient location, then we provide nutritional guidance down to the product level. Using thumb emojis, we score each products nutritional value and provide swap-up recommendations.

NUTRITIONAL SCORING
Our nutritional guidance is broken down into 3 parts
• Tinga rates fresh whole food choices as ‘On The Plate’ and processed foods as ‘Off The Plate’ and then uses these to generate a total basket score (which can be found in your grocery list and your user profile). The goal is simple: achieve a Plate Weighting score that’s more green than red.
• Plate weighting is based on 50% Produce, 25% Whole Grain, 25% Protein, or 0% Other. Visualizing your shopping list identifies areas of opportunity, improves purchase choices, and results in a healthier, happier you!
• Tinga converts nutritional data into our Thumb Rating System, a handy scoring visual for quickly identifying the nutritional value of your food choices and considering healthier available options. It’s a fantastic feature for swapping out less nutritious items for more nutritious items. To eliminate any confusion, nutrient-rich whole foods get a green thumb.
